EFT goal of the week: Robin van Persie!
Last Saturday afternoon, Robin van Persie showed the football world that he has one of the most awesome striking techniques in the game when he leapt high to 'kung-fu' home a lightning volley against Charlton Athletic. It is a special goal well deserving of the EFT goal of the week award and you can check it out below.
The camera angle from directly behind the shot which is first seen when Lee Dixon starts talking makes for really scintillating viewing!

Quite simply a superb goal, sharp running by Eboue as usual, and a sharply taken opportunity while the defence were sleeping. I understand from Goals on Sunday on Sky Sports that RVP was ridiculed back home as the Dutch media believe the ball came off his shin rather than his boot. In the clip someone on MOTD questioned whether RVP meant it. It matters not, I imagine, to the Gunners fans as long as they go in and count. And how.

Yeah Redsman, that some1 who questioned if Robin meant it was Alan bloody Hansen. the most anti-arsenal scum shittah to ever offer opinion. MOTDay dont like us anyhow, but Hansen, grrr. He cussed us out last year for not having talented kids! Well done Dixon for not letting that self-loving scouse lover get more words in.

If I could shoot like that with my foot...I wouldn't mind if it came off me bum to score! SHINS...cripes...that's a bit critical...and whatever part it came off...the intent and the execution completed the goal...no question that he tried to shoot.
"Goal of a lifetime" says Mr. Wenger...and I would tend to agree!

Would you mind at all if I just took the time on your site to say how absolutely wonderful that goal was and what a superlatively fabulous football team arsenal are?
Oh and manchester united too?
Thanks.

LOL! Classic Clough, god rest his soul. It goes in, it counts, it could come off Flight G1289 much less shins, it's a goal.
Anon (12.33AM), Hansen has criticised Liverpool as much as, if not more than, Arsenal. Much much more, in fact. Some criticism fair, others not so.

Yep, it really was a great goal. RvP is certainly coming on leaps and bounds. But I agree with a comment I heard recently in the media - Arsenal already have a scorer of great goals [Henry], what they need is a great scorer of goals, a poacher. RvP needs to develop that angle of his game.

Hi all,
Im an arsenal fan from singapore and im making a trip to london between 30 Oct and 6 Nov. I would love to catch a match at the Emirates for the Arsenal V Cska Moscow on the November 1 Wed. I would be there for only a week and its my only chance to watch Arsenal live in action
If any one is a silver/red member of the Arsenal FC ( I think members get a chance to buy first? im not sure how it works) and is unable to make it for that match, would it be possible to buy a pair for 2? (for me cousin and I)
Feel free to contact me at keeming@gmail.com to work out any arrangement. Any help is much appreciated. I have no idea where to go about getting cheaper tickets. most sites are selling tickets at 150 to 200 pounds which im afraid is completely out of my budget.

Keeming, I'm afraid I can't help you but I hope there is another reader who can.
You are right that tickets first go on sale to members... and I know as a Gunner that it is very rare for any tickets to then go on sale to members of the public.
Hopefully the CSKA match is one of those exceptional games. I wish you good luck.
Blindjak, you are right about the early flurry of great goals this season, I can't remember a start to the season that has seen so many stunning goals!
