If Liverpool win, Gerrard will stay

I firmly believe Gerrard's future will be decided by the end of the semi-final. On each occasion Liverpool have played Chelsea this season I have been disappointed with Gerrard's performances. It has been clear in my mind that he has been thinking about what it would be like wearing a blue shirt. If Liverpool do win I cannot see Gerrard leaving, not for Chelsea anyway. After all, Gerrard has time and time again said he wants to be playing for a club that wins trophies and competes in the Champions League every season. How ironic that the team he currently plays for can now win the Champions League itself.

i think he will join the roman empire dependless of the outcome of the upcomming clashes.

i firmly belive chelsea is the new superpower in european soccer, and even though many players wont say it, i think they all would like a place in the chelsea squad..

gerrard is one of the few players i think will fid straight into the midfield of chelsea, and he will grow as a player when cooperating with the likes of lampard, robben, makelele, cole and duff. its another dimention than kewell, nunez, alonso, hamann and so on.

it would be the right choise for gerrard, he is just like everyone else, want to get better at what he does, and get something back from the team he works for.

Chelsea are MAKING history, Breaking records, and Winning Trophies, and no amount of jealous tirades from bitter Liverpool fans will change that.

Liverpool USED to be a great club, but their day is done and their glory has faded.

Jeez, they are THIRTY ONE points off the pace! They are below EVERTON..

Chelsea are writing the history now, get used to it!

Utter Rubbish.

Chelsea need 5-10 years of winning major trophies & back to back majors to be the team they're hying themselves as.

Money buys players, not class, heritage or greatness.

Again, two sides of a coin. Chelsea can be ridiculed for spending vast amounts to get practically players who are amongst the best in the world, certainly Europe. The combination have lifted the Blues to immense heights.

The other side, their achievements seem a bitter pill as Arsenal, Liverpool and Man Utd have developed strong teams on reasonable budgets. Both the Northern teams had developed big potential youths. One would say that if all clubs had £200m to spend, they would also form a squad of players capable of performing sharply week after week.

For me, players score goals that takes one more than the opposition to get the points that collectively, and regularly, help raise a club up the table. The more this is done, obviously the better your position, right on to the top. Whether a club reaches this level by continuously buying good players because they have the financial backing to, or develop disciplined players and casually add to them, the objective is winning. Three points is three points, even when you are outplayed but not beaten.

I am not a bitter Liverpool fan, though Chelsea are the team to beat and Liverpool have come close to matching them on three occasions, almost beating them on one. I feel it is premature to suggest Chelsea will be breaking records and winning trophies. They certainly are in pole position for adding to their League Cup.

Gerrard, I believe, has seen a different light in Liverpool since beating Everton, possibly since beating Bayern. He would rather Liverpool achieve and he stays than go to Chelsea, and Liverpool are on course to do that. But the main thing is having consistency, no good being grand and then next season lose all composure.

After his words on Match Of The Day, I wonder if Gerrard had thrown in red herrings to deliberately confuse the media. We'll see come end of season.
