English Premiership Predictions: Arsenal, Liverpool, Man U, Chelsea (Skipper covers all your premiership clubs)

SATURDAY

Arsenal v Tottenham

Spurs have a horrendous record against the Gunners. However, I was impressed with Spurs against City. They have also been well recently.

Arsenal’s “slump” in form only lasted for one game. They have all their stars back and they should win this. But for some reason I am going to defy my own logic and go for a draw.

Skipper predicts: 2-2

Aston Villa v Man City

Manchester City have not been good away from home. Aston Villa lost their last two home games, so this is a tough one to call. I fancy Villa to get back winning at home again.

Skipper predicts: 2-1

Bolton v Birmingham

Bolton are doing well at home. I fancy them to continue their good home form and win this comfortably.

Skipper predicts: 3-1

Fulham v Wigan

This is a huge game for both teams. Fulham have been struggling recently. Steve Bruce will fire up his team after a fantastic win last weekend. They will be full of confidence.

Skipper predicts: 1-2

Liverpool v Portsmouth

Liverpool really need to win this game to get the last two results out of their system. Rafa rested several of his stars against Chelsea, so he will field a strong side in this match.

Pompey have been good away from home, but I think they will taste defeat at Anfield.

Skipper predicts: 2-0

Middlesbrough v West Ham

Middlesbrough are in a good form, they have found a spring in their steps. Tuncay Sanli is playing really well.

West Ham have hit a slight dip, this is a tough game for them

Skipper predicts: 2-0

Reading v Sunderland

Sunderland have had terrible luck on their travel. Reading are always solid at home. I fancy Roy’s team to pull off a surprise victory in this one.

Skipper predicts: 1-2

SUNDAY

Man Utd v Everton

Everton are on a really good run. They managed to get a draw away at Chelsea. United usually win this fixture quite comfortably. Everton are showing new resilience this year, which I have seen in them before.

I think this will be a close game and end in a stalemate.

Skipper predicts: 1-1

Newcastle v Derby

Derby have been awful this year. Since Jewell taking over, they are showing a bit more fight but the results are not changing.
Newcastle are improving.

Skipper predicts: 2-0

Blackburn v Chelsea (1610)

Blackburn have had some bad results recently and have also started conceding a lot of goals. I wasn’t that impressed with Chelsea in the mid week. They will be without some key players.

I fancy Blackburn to beat Chelsea.

Skipper predicts: 2-0

I am really hoping that Arsenal,ManU and Chelsea all lose but I think Everton will lose against ManU as it is being played at Old Trafford and I cant remember the last team to beat United at home(please mention if you know) also Liverpool should put 4 past Pompey if they play with the normal 11.(Itandje,Hobbs,Sissoko NO WAY) Blackburn to beat Chelsea definitely, Chelsea are not strong without Drogba and Terry, and im unsure about the North London derby.
Finally i want to talk about the Liverpool-Chelsea carling cup match. I dont blame Benitez for the loss, the team he fielded matched Chelsea's team and could have beaten Chelsea, however he fielded a few underperformers who shouldn't be part of Liverpool FC, we were extremeley unlucky on the day also extremeley lacking the cutting edge.

Last team to beat Utd at OT was West Ham last season, via Tevez. Itandje is third choice, Hobbs is reserve and fresh whle Sissoko is behind even Leiva in central midfield. Simply we field our strongest and get our thing on the road, so to speak. Pompey are well suited in attack and we should play like our lives depend on it.

Chelsea are without Terry but Carvalho can marshall in his place, the difference is Blackburn have welted at home and away. Santa Cruz is paying dividends but conceding so many since the Villa game makes for a bad past few weeks. I dont think Blackburn are stable enough now to handle Chelsea's attack.

I also dont think Spurs will handle Arsenal, they are not cohesive enough, still need King back and their strikers on full pelt. they are not, Bent has been quite a woeful £16.5m expenditure for one.

As for the Carling Cup defeat, we held well and should have converted our chances, it's the same story. OK a bit of luck with the looping goal and then Crouch commits a kamikaze lunge that, regardless of Mikel's guilt, was deplorable. We needed 11 out there and one of them being Crouch, not without him and 10 men.

Agree with redsman. Arsenal will beat Spurs. Especially after getting the boost that they will be playing AC Milan In UEFA Chapions League. Im am sure the game will be open and plenty of goals from Arsenal.

We did it, four past pompey and Rafa started with a sensible team, I will observe Kuyt's performance later tonight to see if he has evolved in to a ATTACKER.
